Sébastien This, PhD

Sébastien obtained his PhD in Immunology from the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon in France, before moving to Canada for his postdoctoral training. At Université de Montréal and McGill University, Sébastien trained at the interface between immunology, biophysics and machine learning, focused on the improvement of adoptive T cell therapies. His work has consisted in developing methods to monitor TCR signaling dynamics in activated CD8 T cells for the prediction antigen-specificity and antigen-affinity at the single cell level. Sébastien additionally developed ART-CLaP, a laser-based method for the identification of T cells based on intracellular calcium dynamics for downstream single-cell TCR sequencing.
